Though not initially interested in medicine as a youth, Gottfried Lange experienced a kidney problem in his late teens which led to several operations and many weeks in the hospital. His observations of what went on during his hospital stay began to unsettle his belief that "modern" medicine had all the answers to healthy living.
After finishing his military service, he began his medical studies at Hamburg University in Germany. He began to see that the "usual and standard" medical practices could not actually cure any of the chronic conditions of the patients, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, rheumatic diseases and cancer. He saw that the usual medical approach was to surgically remove an affected body part and/or to administer some type of drugs — and then wait to see the results, hoping that everything would come out right. In fact, these cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, rheumatic diseases, cancer, etc. rarely improved and the patients consistently got worse. Something was obviously wrong, yet the procedures were called “standard medicine.”
Dr. Lange graduated from Hamburg University in 1980 after six years of medical study, including classes in internal medicine, surgery and gynecology.
During his university training, Dr. Lange noticed a surprising fact: No university courses in Nutritional Medicine are available to study! Doctors are not trained in nutrition or a nutritional approach to health — which is an interesting fact when you consider that "you are what you eat". After having graduated from university as an MD, Dr. Lange attended special classes in nutritional medicine, detoxification, homeopathy, neural therapy, medicinal ozone therapy, microbiological therapy, reflexology massage, electro-acupuncture, bio-resonance therapy and other alternative disciplines, looking for real solutions that would make a definite and positive impact on people's health and well-being.
Dr. Lange sums up his basic ideas below:
Dr. Gottfried A. Lange: author, educator, lecturer and naturopathic physician.
"The general view that has been accepted nearly everywhere is that it is normal to have some kind of illness. Let’s take a different look at this viewpoint:
“NORMAL is to have no disease, to be healthy. One needs to become aware of the distortion of our thinking and the general attitude toward health in the medical industry. This is part of the system whose purpose is the business of disease and to maintain it. Thus it is not so easy to find true information about proper diets (proper fuel for the body) and effective cures when needed.
"Is it not surprising that over 100 years of intense research by countless intelligent scientists has not led us to an ability to cure the major diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer? What really has been happening is a very sad thing: Research results that provide real solutions to these problems DO exist but have been systematically suppressed and are not made part of standard university education of medical doctors and not made part of standard therapy guidelines. Thus nearly 1 in 2 people around the world dies from heart attack or stroke and every fourth person from cancer. Millions and millions of people suffer and die in engineered ignorance. It is not that people resign to the inevitable — they simply do not know that the solutions exist!
"Standard medicine is not all bad. It provides solutions for acute and immediately life-threatening conditions, emergency medicine, accident surgery and modern surgical techniques in general. However, for chronic conditions like cardiovascular diseases and cancer, standard medicine has no workable solutions, which is to say no solutions that actually remedy these conditions. This is not due to medical doctors themselves. I believe that medical doctors really do want to help their patients, and they believe in what they have learned in their medical training. However, the suppression of workable approaches that can really solve the endless suffering can be traced back to the pharmaceutical industry. They maintain their business of disease. No disease = no business. The more disease, the more business. Vitamins and other powerful natural substances are not patentable, which is another reason why no pharmaceutical company is interested in them.
"Internationally, the top-selling pharmaceuticals are cholesterol-lowering drugs. Drug companies make BILLIONS of dollars each year on these drugs. That cholesterol is the cause of heart disease is a fabricated fairy tale. There is no research that really backs this up. 85% of the cholesterol in the body is made by the liver itself, and only 15% comes from the food we eat. Cholesterol is an essential substance for the body, as it is a central stabilizing building block for cell walls and is a major constituent of the brain. One can easily see that the liver is not designed to make the whole body ill. Lower cholesterol artificially and you cause brain disorders immediately."

Dr. Lange has given many seminars and lectures, mainly for medical professionals, discussing such topics as:
• heart diseases
• blood pressure
• macular degeneration
• potency problems
• auto-immune diseases
• Alzheimer’s disease
• multiple sclerosis
• rheumatic diseases
• ulcerative colitis
• Crohn’s disease
• life extension
and how to remedy these conditions using vitamins and other powerful natural substances. His lectures include vital information on nutrition, cancer-curing and preventative nutrition. What many people do not know is that by regular exercise alone you can lower high blood sugar levels, blood fats and blood pressure. Workable solutions do not have to be complicated.
How to Really Prevent and Cure Heart Disease — The Billion Dollar Cholesterol ‘Scam’ Exposed is a 92-page research overview and exposé which addresses the top five myths fostered by the pharmaceutical industry and conventional medicine. It advocates effective natural nutritional and holistic approaches for the prevention and treatment of heart disease.
Recent research has shown that cardiovascular diseases are not genuine diseases at all, but rather the result of long-term deficiencies of essential nutrients in the cells of the walls of blood vessels and in other cells of the body. Because of this new scientific breakthrough, it is now possible to effectively and economically treat cardiovascular disease — and also to prevent it.
Deficiencies in vitamins and trace elements — which are nothing less than the body’s biochemical tools for assembling and detoxifying cells and tissues — are very common today for several reasons:
As a consequence of this, cardiovascular disease has become the number one killer of people around the world. At the same time, cholesterol-lowering drugs have become the number one drugs on the international pharmaceutical bestseller lists. Cholesterol has been made the "bad guy". Everybody has been cleverly led up the garden path, including most medical doctors.
Dr. Peter Langsjoen, a well-known cardiologist and researcher at the University of Texas Health Center, has observed that the most common cholesterol-lowering drugs named "statins" can even cause what they are supposed to cure. He reports a "frightening increase in heart failure" in connection with statin usage.
A lack of cholesterol often means a reduced sex drive and reduced fertility. A substantial number of cases of impotence associated with cholesterol-lowering statin drug usage has been reported.
Professor Walli at University Hospital Munich-Grosshadern in Germany has discovered that every person who suffers from cancer has a very low cholesterol level.

Doctors who prescribe conventional drugs for heart disease may actually be helping to kill their patients, according to the more than 250 scientific research articles and journals cited in the new book by Dr. Lange. More than $200 billion each year is being spent for drugs and other treatments to lower cholesterol and treat arteriosclerosis — drugs that actually may be contributing to heart ailments, sexual dysfunction and violence. Dr. Lange blames the pharmaceutical companies for supporting profitable drug therapies in spite of evidence that suggests incidents of heart attacks and strokes have NOT been reducing as a result of these drugs.
With the knowledge contained in this book, you can avoid potential damage from cholesterol-lowering drugs, etc. You can take charge of your own health because you will know what to avoid and which vitamins in which amounts are effective. However, it is advisable to consult a qualified physician who is also knowledgeable about vitamin therapy, who can diagnose the disease exactly and supervise the course of the disease during your road to recovery.
